How Weed Vape Pens Work

There are several ways that vaporizers work, and they all have to do with temperature. Some heat water until it’s close to boiling, while others use hot air or metal. Others still heat the entire chamber.

Whatever the technique, vaporizers heat material to a level that is just high enough to convert it into a vapor without causing too much burn (such as when using joint or smoking cigarettes).

The flame from a lighter is about 450℉ (230°C), but cannabinoids vaporize at 284℉ (140°C) or lower. All that extra heat destroys many of the compounds in your cannabis, so vaporizers help consumers get more bang for their buck, as it were.

Tabletop vapes, also known as stationary or desktop vapes, use convection to heat cannabis. A plate is heated, cannabis is added, and the vapor is drawn through one of the methods listed below.

Whips, like the Volcano or Plenty, are the most popular types of tabletop vaporizers. Tabletop vapes come in two distinct designs: whip-style and forced-air. Portable Flower Vapes

Most flower vapes (or dry herb vaporizers) are designed to work only with cannabis flower, but some devices can also be used as a concentrate vaporizer.

Those who prefer not to smoke cannabis or desire a discreet and low-odor option love vaping pens.

Vaping dry herbs works by heating up cannabinoids and terpenes in a tiny chamber until they become vapor.

A battery, a chamber, and a mouthpiece are all included in these vapes. Cannabis is crushed into smaller particles and put in the chamber, which is then heated and inhaled.

Portable Concentrate Vapes

What are concentrate vapes? To put it simply, these are pens that you can use to vape concentrates.

Unlike dried cannabis flower, which contains mostly needless plant material, cannabis concentrates go through a refining process that eliminates impurities and leaves behind only the most desirable compounds in the cannabis plant. These include cannabinoids and terpenes. Not to mention, ounce for ounce, these concentrations are much more potent than regular old dried weed.

There are several different types of concentrate, including wax, oil, and shatter. Concentrates can be even more refined to produce a less impure extract called distillate. Various vapes exist for each form of concentrate. Some are disposable already filled with substance; others are reusable and may be filled with your choice of substance and recharged. They range in size and shape, some with digital displays, replaceable components or cartridges, depending on the manufacturer.

Portable concentrate vapes are similar to dry flower vaporizers, consisting of a battery, chamber, and mouthpiece. However, they also include an atomizer- a device used to heat and transform liquid into vapor.
